Girl, 5, inside car hit by 'drunk-driver'

A man who was allegedly almost four times over the legal alcohol limit has crashed into a parked car as a five-year-old girl was being secured in her seat in Sydney's southwest.

Police say the 29-year-old drunk-driver veered towards the kerb and hit the car which was parked outside a Belmore home about 9.15pm on Saturday.

A breath test at Campsie Police Station returned a reading of .0189, police say.

The man's 21-year-old female passenger was taken to Canterbury Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

The little girl and her father, who was putting her in the car when it was hit, were uninjured, police say.

The driver has been charged with high-range PCA and will appear at Burwood Local Court on May 2.
