Sydney man charged with child sex crimes

A man from Sydney's northern beaches has been charged with child sex offences after trying to meet up with an 11-year-old girl.

The 33-year-old was caught in a covert operation by the NSW child exploitation internet unit during which he believed he was chatting online with the father of the young girl.

The man, who was arrested late Thursday morning in Parramatta before detectives seized computers, computer drives and mobile phones from a Dee Why home, will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Friday on several child sex offences.
