Man in hospital after Coolangatta bashing

A man is in hospital with head injuries after being assaulted and knocked unconscious during an altercation with two other men and a woman at Coolangatta.

Police say the 27-year-old man was attacked on Griffith Street at about 11.30pm on Friday and the offenders fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of head injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
