Mildura Rural City Council is again urging people to stay out of flooded areas and levee construction sites for their own safety.
The city says it understands there’s plenty of interest in the floods along the Murray, but there are risks including trees possibly toppling.
And drivers are being urged NOT to go past road closure signs, Council saying the roads could be wet and dangerous while heavy machinery is also being used to reinforce or construct levees.
Mildura Police have added that driving on flooded waters is dangerous, and it doesn’t take much to make your car become unstable, lose traction or float away.
A small car can float in just 15cm of water.
That’s the height of your average pen.
