Work by WaterNSW to reinstate the weir at Wentworth is due to start today.
Work is also underway by the Murray–Darling Basin Authority and Goulburn-Murray Water to reinstate the Mildura weir and lock 11.
If all the equipment is in good working order they expect to start putting the weir’s trestles back in place tomorrow.

The lock will be closed while the weir was being reinstated, which means during this time river craft will not be able to pass through this section of river.
River users may see levels fluctuate over coming days, with houseboat operators and river pumpers urged to monitor river levels during this time.
The procedure at Mildura Weir’s expected to take a few days to complete.
