Victorians urged to give blood this week

We’re being encouraged to use the extra day in February to donate blood.

It’s a leap year meaning Thursday is February 29, and Red Cross Lifeblood is urging more locals to roll up their sleeves to donate blood or plasma.

Lifeblood says there’s a wide variety of uses for the blood, including for road trauma patients, those going through cancer and premmie babies.

More than five-and-a-half thousand Victorians are being urged to donate blood over the next few days.

Mildura’s blood bank is on Eighth Street.

Anyone wanting to donate to can call 13 14 95.
