Mildura Motorcycle Club has regretfully announced that the Sunraysia Riverland Refrigerated Services 2024 Sidecar Spectacular, scheduled for this coming Sunday, has had to be postponed.
A deficit of entries, mostly due to the 2024 Oceania Sidecar Championships which are to be held at Gillman, Adelaide, just the night before, has seen the “Speccy” short of quality numbers to run the event as Mildura fans would want it to be conducted.
The standard and status of that Adelaide meeting meant that the Mildura meeting could also have been severely and adversely affected, should any major accidents occur.
Sidecar teams are also planning for the National Championships which are to be held in Tamworth just the week after Easter, and participants are mindful that any machine breakage might not be able to be repaired in time to have a good try at the Titles.
The next event at Olympic Park Speedway will be the Annual Wintersun Run Classic event, over the King’s Birthday Long weekend in June, with activity on both the Saturday and Sunday of that weekend.
The 2024 Sidecar Spectacular will now be held at the start of next season, in November, later this year.
