The findings from the environment DNA sampling season in the Murray Darling Basin have been revealed.
Almost 650 water samples collected from more than three hundred sites along the system were analysed, finding 144 species.
Seventeen threatened species were identified including the endangered Silver Perch and the vulnerable Murray Cod.

There was also Atlantic Salmon detected near Mildura.
Many native species were missing from the river due to weirs without fish ways.
