Operation West Connect

Four people have died on roads across Mildura so far this year, with police continuing to target high-risk driving behaviour.

Operation West Connect has been held locally but also across western Victoria.

Twenty-five offences have been detected on local roads during the operation, including one drink driver and seven speeding motorists.

Police are warning they’ll continue to target road safety across Mildura, worried about high-risk driving behaviour associated with road trauma.

Western Region Road Policing Inspector, Justine Ryan says “Slowing down and sticking to the speed limit, as well as avoiding distractions behind the wheel, are things we can all do to help make our roads safer and prevent further tragedies.”
