Man jailed after carpark attack

A Mildura man has been jailed for attacking a woman and stealing her handbag.

The Magistrates court was told the 44-year-old attacked the woman on July 10 at a carpark on Fifteenth Street, with the victim hitting her head and shoulder on the ground.

The Herald Sun says the woman’s victim statement read that was she was also robbed of her independence.

The man pleaded guilty to charges including theft and assault, and is due to be released in January next year, receiving a six month sentence with 19 days already reckoned as served.
