Both local councils offer different rate payment options.
Mildura Rural City Council offers five direct debit options:
- Option 1: fortnightly payments of an amount nominated by residents (all year around)
- Option 2: 18 fortnightly payments (between September and May)
- Option 3: nine monthly payments (between September and May)
- Option 4: four instalments
- Option 5: one annual payment.

Meanwhile, Wentworth Shire Council rates are due 31 August, 2024.
Option 1
Payment of Rates and Charges by quarterly instalments
If an instalment is unpaid by its due date, daily interest charges will accrue immediately on that instalment.
First instalment – 31 August
Second Instalment – 30 November
Third Instalment – 28 February
Fourth Instalment – 31 May
Instalment reminder notices will be sent to those ratepayers who chose to pay by instalment.
Option 2
Payment of Rates and Charges in full
As per the Local Government Act 1993, the interest rate has been set at 10.5% per annum on overdue rates.
