A second man has been charged after an alleged escape from a Broken Hill correctional facility.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District began investigating the whereabouts of two men, aged 23 and 28, after they allegedly escaped from a correctional facility about 9.40pm on Sunday 9 March 2025.
About 11.30am on Monday 10 March 2025, police arrested the younger man, and a 31-year-old woman in his company, following a police pursuit that travelled through Coomealla, Buronga and Gol Gol.
They remain before the courts.
Following extensive inquiries, about 9.30am yesterday (Wednesday 12 March 2025), officers attended a home on O’Neill Street, Broken Hill and located the 28-year-old man inside the home.
He was arrested on virtue of a warrant and taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with inmate escape/attempt to escape from lawful custody.
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court yesterday.
