Blue-green algae Red Alert lifted for Anabranch

The Red Alert issued on 20 December 2024 for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for the Great Darling Anabranch at Silver City Highway crossing has been lifted to an Amber Alert.

The Red Alert was lifted following two consecutive laboratory algal reports which indicated the location is no longer on red alert for blue-green algae. 

Water users should always consider the risks when entering any waterway in NSW, including the fact that these waters are untreated, and its quality is unknown.
