Mildura Police have arrested five alleged burglars and car thieves this week as part of a co-ordinated crackdown.
• A 21-year-old Mildura man was arrested earlier this week following a series of alleged car and home break ins across Mildura between 8 and 9 April.
• In a separate investigation, a 20-year-old Mildura woman was arrested following two alleged burglaries in Mildura over the past week.
• Another 20-year-old Mildura woman was arrested for an alleged attempted burglary in Mildura on 6 April.
• A 23-year-old Mildura man was arrested following an alleged burglary in the CBD. A 48-year-old Mildura woman was also arrested during the warrant and charged with possess drug of dependence.
Last week, police executed a search warrant at a property in Mildura where they recovered two stolen vehicles.
One of those vehicles was stolen during a burglary in Mildura.
A 30-year-old Mildura man was arrested in possession of a stolen caravan and tools stolen during a burglary in Red Cliffs.
This week’s arrests form part of an ongoing operation targeting known hotspots and individuals associated with property crime across Mildura.
Police continue to urge the community to:
• Always lock doors and windows, and internal garage doors.
• Keep vehicles locked and valuables out of sight
• Report any suspicious behaviour or persons loitering in the area
• Ensure security systems and surveillance cameras are operational where possible
