Calls to stay fire-safe over the long weekend

With a warm long weekend ahead, Mildura Police are reminding people to stay safe when out in the bush.

They’re urging people to brush up on campfire safety before going camping, encouraging locals to check weather conditions and make sure there’s not a Total Fire Ban in place.

They say it’s important a fire is never left unattended, telling the community to call triple zero (000) in the case of an emergency or if they see smoke or fire.

Tomorrow we’re looking at a sunny day with a top of 35, while Sunday will be partly cloudy and slightly cooler, heading for 33.

It’s a good day for a public holiday on Monday, another sunny one also looking to reach a top of 35 degrees.
