A car crashed into a local hospital in the Riverland and then left the scene in the early hours of yesterday morning.
About 12.40am on Thursday 10 April, police patrols spotted a white Suzuki station wagon travelling on Renmark Avenue and attempted to stop it however the car took off.
About five minutes later police were called to Ral Ral Avenue at Renmark after reports the same car had collided into the main entrance of the hospital and then left the scene.
A short time later the Suzuki was seen at a shopping centre car park, upon spotting patrols the car drove towards the patrol car and mounted a kerb.
Police attempted to speak with the driver however the car took off onto Renmark Avenue.
The car was stopped on Industry Road and the driver was removed from the car.
The man submitted to a drug test where he returned a positive result to methamphetamine.
He was taken to hospital to be assessed.
