Grass Fires

Fire crews have taken over an hour to bring several scrub and grassfires under control at Werrimull.

They were called to the Sturt Highway just after midday yesterday, finding four separate fires burning along a 3 klm stretch.

The CFA says the fires did not spread into paddocks, with the wind keeping smoke and the fires on the south side of the highway.

While an advice was issued at one stage the incident was declared safe just over two hours later.
