Farmers claim they’ve been left in the lurch by a Federal Government decision to scrap the Harvest Trail Service, connecting them to workers.
The program finished up on the weekend, but allowed producers to recruit backpackers and Aussie jobseekers to work during harvest periods.
Mallee MP Anne Webster last month slammed Labor’s decision to axe the program, saying it’ll make farmers’ lives harder.
