A new taskforce has been established targeting illegal firewood collection.
The Conservation Regulator and Parks Victoria have launched Taskforce Ironbark, worried about the demand for cheap firewood.
It’s been revealed there’ve been over 100 incidents of firewood related damage in the Mallee since last year, with 19 fines also issued during that time.

Authorities say their areas of concern is areas around Murray River Reserve.
Authorities are encouraging locals to report any illegal firewood activity they may see.
