Federal MP Anne Webster says she’s disappointed in a report from a Senate inquiry into the shutdown of digital TV in Mildura.
She says the report was fast-tracked, there were few submissions and not a chance for many in the electorate to have their say, and the Senate committee didn’t listen property to locals in Sunraysia despite it calling for Federal Government to move quickly to declare the region Service Deficient.
The Member for Mallee says that will take up to four months if the bill is passed, while locals will have to pay up to a-thousand dollars for satellite services to watch network TEN shows.
Dr Webster also said she was disappointed that the Senate inquiry failed to give Mildura people a voice by refusing to hold a hearing in the affected city.
