Mildura Rural City Council are encouraging locals to not miss out on the next Lunch and Learn webinar.
Tailored for adults and those who support young people, ‘Consent – the conversation you need to be having’, is an introductory webinar that offers insights into understanding and discussing affirmative consent in relationships.
The webinar is to be held tomorrow, Wednesday 19 March, 12:00pm to 1:00pm online.
Youth Affairs Council Victoria Affirmative Consent Project Officer Laura Crozier will explore:
Victoria’s new Affirmative Consent Laws including stealthing and image-based abuse.
What the new laws mean for you and the young people in your life or work.
When, why and how to talk about affirmative consent and staying safe in relationships.
Tips to answer tricky questions young people ask.
How to respond if a young person discloses a sexual offence to you.
This workshop is being held in support of International Women’s Day.
Mildura Police are also encouraging people to get involved in the webinar, saying it is a great learning opportunity for anyone that deals with Youth to help guide them in this tricky landscape.
