Non-residents may, in some instances, vote in local election

The NSW Local Government elections are on Saturday 14 September 2024.

People who own property but don’t reside in the area are eligible to vote as a non-resident in a council area if they are:

1 An owner of rateable land in the council area, or

2 An occupier or rate-paying lessee of rateable land in the council area.

Applications must be submitted by 6pm, Monday 5 August 2024.
