Opposition says “Renewable energy projects to cost $520 billion more than estimated”

The Federal Coalition says renewable energy projects are a major threat to farming in Mallee, with new figures suggesting Labor’s plans have ballooned out to over 640-billion dollars.

Federal MP Anne Webster says the government continues to ignore local farmer’s concerns about the clean energy transition.

“Research out on Friday from Frontier Economics has laid waste to Prime Minister Albanese’s claims. Labor’s globally unprecedented experimental transition to an exclusively renewable energy mix will cost $520 billion more than they estimated,” Dr Webster said.

Frontier Economics are consultants used by all sides of politics to analyse the impact of government policies.
