Police on both sides of the Murray will be focussing on road safety over the long weekend.
Mildura officers are taking part in Operation Regal, which is now underway until Monday night, warning winter is one of the most dangerous times on the road.
Offences including speeding and drink and drug driving will be targeted.

Officers in Dareton and Wentworth will be part of Operations King’s Birthday 2024, which is also running until late Monday night.
NSW officers are warning of double demerit points.
Locals heading off for the long weekend are being warned police will be out on the roads over the break, but Senior Sergeant Travis Farnsworth is also urging drivers to be careful when using the GPS in unfamiliar territory.
