Police urge community members to lock up their cars

Police right around Australia continue to work in partnership with the community to help prevent vehicle crime.  

Murray Mallee Police in South Australia have identified a recent increase of thefts from motor vehicles.

This has prompted them to release some crime prevention tips:

– Lock your vehicle doors and close windows
– Install and activate an alarm or immobiliser
– Remove all valuables from your vehicle
– Park off the road and if possible in a locked garage
– Whilst at home keep your keys in a safe location
– Do not leave spare keys in your vehicle

If you see any suspicious activity or behaviour you are encouraged to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or if you have any information regarding criminal activity you can anonymously provide information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
