Works on water infrastructure in the region has been completed, aimed at delivering safe and reliable access to a secure water supply for Mildura, Red Cliffs and Merbein.
The Victorian Government says the Sunraysia Water Efficiency Project cost almost 38-MILLION dollars, which upgraded outdated infrastructure for the agricultural sector and growing communities.
Thirty Dethridge wheels previously used in the open channels have been given to a local artist for a display at Nichols Point Primary.
Open channels were replaced with a 25-kilometre underground pipeline.
Around 30 kilometres of fencing and seven-hundred escape ladders were also put in to improve community safety around water.
The Victorian government says it’s also making irrigation more efficient for local farmers.
