Weekend traffic reports from the Riverland

Several drivers have been caught behaving poorly in the Riverland over the weekend.

An 82-year-old woman from Barmera has been reported for drink driving after she was stopped on Hawdon Street at Barmera about 8.30pm on Friday 7 March.  She submitted to a breath test and provided a result of 0.116.  She received a six-month immediate loss of licence and her car was impounded for 28 days.  She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Just after 10:00pm on Saturday 8 March, a 62-year-old man from Berri was reported for failing to comply with a breath analysis.  The driver was stopped on Kay Avenue at Berri and provided a positive alcohol test however he failed to comply with a breath analysis test a short time later.  The man was issued a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Just before midnight on Saturday 8 March, a driver was travelling on Eighteenth Street at Renmark when patrols stopped him for a mobile driver test.  The man, a 45-year-old Paringa man, was breath tested and provided a positive result of 0.117 – more than double the legal limit.  He was also reported for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and driving whilst being unlicensed.  His vehicle was defected, and he was issued with a six-month immediate loss of licence.
