Teenaged girl sexually touched in NSW park

A teenage girl has allegedly been sexually touched by a stranger in broad daylight at a park in country NSW.

The 13-year-old girl was in the park on Sharp Street in Cooma, in southern NSW, at 5.30pm on Saturday when she and a 14-year-old girl were approached by a man, police say.

After a brief conversation the 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually touched by the man as he also touched himself.

When he walked away the girls told a relative what had happened, who then called police.

A 49-year-old West Australian man was arrested in the park and charged with intentionally sexually touching a child and intentionally doing a sexual act with a child.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday.
